[Simulator] Amount of Money Per Week Spent on Fast Foods in Britain | IELTS Writing (Task 1)

The rendered bar graph depicts the information about how much money people with various income levels spend on three different types of fast food, including hamburgers, fish and chips, and pizza. However, the line graph provides statistics about the intake of these food items from 1970 to 1990.

Overall, it is clear that highest expenditure is done by affluent people on hamburgers, whereas its consumption was highest in 1990.

It is evident from the bar graph that among the three categories of fast food, hamburgers represent the highest weekly spending in the upper class, recorded to be 40 pence. Similarly, in case of people with average incomes, amount spent on hamburgers is the maximum, however notably much less than that in the high-income counterparts, noted to be only about 33 pence per week. Contrarily, for the low-income group, fish and chips account for the largest weekly expense, constituted to be 18 pence.

Turning attention towards the line graph contrasts, the consumption of hamburgers and fish and chips was progressively escalating, whereas pizza consumption has been on the decline since 1970, falling from 300g to 700g in 1985 to about 240g in 1990. In 1982 and 1988, the preference of pizza and hamburgers was exceeded by that of fish and chips correspondingly.
