[Simulator] Experimental Flu Vaccine Was Trialed in a Large Country Town on Females | IELTS Writing (Task 1)

The rendered line graph, bar graph and pie chart depicts the findings of a flu vaccine trial conducted in a large municipality in June 1996 among females along with number of flu cases and deaths from flu.

Overall, effectiveness the experimental flu vaccine on females was negligible. Additionally, the flu affected more women as compared to men, and the mortality rate for women from the flu was also considerable.

To commence with, there was undoubtedly a significant difference in flu rates between men and women in 1996. There was a significant increase in the number of flu cases between April and June 1996, with females showing a higher susceptibility to the virus. Notably, women received the vaccine at the beginning of June, when there were about 2,500 male patients as opposed to 3,500 females. Surprisingly, approximately 2,500 female flu cases were reported from August through the end of the year.

Examining further, from March to May 1996, there was only one recorded case of a female flu fatality. However, following the vaccination campaign, there was an increase in flu-related deaths between June and August, with two men and four women fatalities. Surprisingly, 35% of older females and almost 25% of female young children continued to be susceptible to the virus even after receiving the vaccine.
